Volanno Completes Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Small Business University Certificate Program

Volanno was selected by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) to participate in its Small Business University certificate program. Fifteen small business leaders were selected to participate in the 10-week training in government contracting: proposal writing, pricing, contract management, and marketing. George Mason University and the Virginia small business assistance program developed the program’s content.

"This small business university program demonstrated MWAA's commitment to supplier diversity and gave our cohort the tools and opportunity to develop our skills in a competitive market landscape. Diversity, one of Volanno's key brand values, makes us stronger. MWAA's program design has allowed us to meet key officials and forge relationships with other small business leaders," said Dawn Amore, President and CEO of Volanno.

Volanno was given a graduation certificate at the historic Terminal 1 at National Airport for completing the program. After graduation, Volanno met with MWAA procurement officers representing IT and professional services. Our expertise in supporting the FAA's Terminal Area Forecast and our experience implementing PIDS for Amtrak impressed the procurement officials.
