Dawn Amore, CEO of Volanno, Appointed to ATCA Board of Directors


WASHINGTON, DC – Volanno, a recognized leader in digital transformation and data analytics for transportation agencies, including aviation, rail, and local transit, is proud to announce the appointment of its President and CEO, Dawn Amore, to the Board of Directors of the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA).

ATCA plays a crucial role in enhancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of air traffic management within the National Airspace System (NAS). Dawn was chosen along with newly appointed board members, including Michael Hawthorne (Chair-Elect) - GDIT, Carl Burleson (Treasurer), and fellow Directors Kelly Caccetta - CSSI, Amy Parish - UFA, Sharon Pinkerton – Airlines for America, and Don Thoma - Aireon.

Expressing her gratitude, Dawn stated, “ATCA has long been at the forefront of advancing air traffic management, fostering collaboration among industry leaders, and driving innovation in aviation. As CEO of Volanno, I’ve had the privilege of supporting numerous FAA projects and initiatives—modernizing air traffic controller recordkeeping, providing data-driven solutions, and leveraging AI-driven insights. I’m honored to join the ATCA Board and look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to help shape the future of air traffic management.”

Driving Innovation in Aviation Technology

Under Dawn Amore’s leadership, Volanno, a Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), developed the nationwide digital repository for air traffic controller training records, enhancing accuracy and efficiency in recordkeeping. Volanno also built and maintains the FAA’s Aviation System Performance Metrics (ASPM), a critical tool for data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency in air traffic management.

Beyond aviation, Dawn remains deeply engaged in addressing challenges across multiple modes of transportation—including rail and transit—leveraging insights between modes of transportation to innovation. She actively participates in leading industry associations such as AAAE, the Flight Safety Foundation, Women in Transportation, and ITS America.

Dawn concluded, “With ATCA’s members at the forefront of air traffic management innovation, I’m excited to contribute as a board member — helping to bridge policy, technology, and operational advancements. Together, we will modernize the National Airspace System and ensure the seamless integration of new entrants and transportation technologies, from here to beyond the stars.”
